Hybrid Bearing Monitoring
The aim of the project VEROLAT is to develop a monitoring system that detects damages and the failure progress velocity in hybrid roller bearings (ceramic rolling elements between steel races). To this end an embedded system which consists of sensors and a signal processing unit usable in aircraft engines is to be developed.
Failure detection, classification and prediction should be designed in a way that they can be integrated into an aircraft engine monitoring system.
This project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.
